Point Mallard Park in Decatur has outdoor fun the whole family can enjoy on more than 700 acres. For starters, there’s the summer hit—the Point Mallard WaterPark! Starting this month, the waterpark is now open on Saturdays and Sundays only.
In fact, the last weekend to soak up the sun and fun at Point Mallard WaterPark is Saturday, Sept. 2, through Labor Day, Sept. 4th. Connect with the park on Facebook for the water park’s hours, admission and more.
Don’t miss cooling off at the wave pool, floating down the Lazy River, playing at the Kids Squirt Factory, swimming in the Olympic pool, riding the flume slides and more!

Besides making a last-minute summer splash at the waterpark, visitors to Point Mallard Park in Decatur can enjoy a variety of other outdoor activities!
Put on your walking shoes and get in your steps on about three miles of walking trails around the park. If you prefer moving a little faster when using your two feet, hop on your bike and ride along the Bill Sims Bike Trail. Trailheads, which close at dusk, are located throughout the park.
On another visit to Point Mallard Park, hit balls and improve your golf game at the Strike Zone Driving Range. Located at the Bill J. Dukes ball field complex, the driving range includes target greens, a putting green and an enclosed shelter. Tokens and E-keys are available for purchase at the Golf Course.
Speaking of the Point Mallard Golf Course, it’s open year-round! Call the golf course to schedule a tee time.
Then, as fall is ushered in by crisp, cool air, make plans for a staycation and camping at the 25-acre wooded Point Mallard Campground! There are a handful of tent sites, plus 217 hookup sites.
